Popular Hummus and Tahini Sauce

Hummus is a Levantine dip or spread made from cooked, mashed chickpeas or other beans, blended with tahini, olive oil, lemon juice, salt and garlic. It is popular in the Middle East and Mediterranean.

Tahini sauce is a mixture of tahini paste, lemon juice, garlic, and water. This traditional sauce is served in Israel and in Arab countries throughout the Middle East. The sauce is used as a condiment to accompany dishes like hummus, falafel, and babaganoush.


For Tahini Sauce: -Sesame Seeds 1Cup or 250ml -Olive Oil ¼ Cup or 60ml -Salt ½ tsp For Hummus: -Chickpeas 6 -Cumin Powder ½ tbsp -Garlic 4 Cloves -Tahini Sauce 4tbsp -Salt to taste -Lemon Juice 4tbsp -Olive Oil 60ml For Presentation -Olive Oil -Parsley -Chickpeas Method: -Roast Sesame Seeds. -Add in a grinder with olive oil and salt and grind. -Tahini Sauce is Ready. -Add Chickpeas and the rest of the ingredients in a grinder and grind. -If consistency too thick then add 4tbsp of water. -Hummus is ready -Serve
