(Tawheed) The Mercy of Allah

The Prophet peace be upon him said, “O Mu’adh! Do you know what Allah’s Right upon His slaves is?” I said, “Allah and His Apostle know best.” The Prophet peace be upon him said, “To worship Him (Allah) Alone and to join none in worship with Him (Allah). Do you know what their right upon Him is?” I replied, “Allah and His Apostle know best.” The Prophet peace be upon him said, “Not to punish them (if they do so).” (Sahih Bukhari)

In this hadith from Sahih Bukhari, the Prophet ﷺ teaches the companion Mu'adh about the core principle of Islam. He explains that Allah's right upon His slaves is that they worship Him exclusively, without associating any partners with Him. Additionally, the right of His slaves upon Allah is that He shows mercy and refrains from punishing them if they sincerely adhere to worshipping Him alone. This hadith highlights the importance of monotheism and Allah's compassion towards those who remain devoted to Him.
