Julaybib a companion of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. In the society of the time, he was an outsider. He wasn't wealthy, he didn't have a strong tribe behind him, and historical accounts suggest he was not considered conventionally attractive.
In a world that judged people by their bloodline and looks, Julaybib was often overlooked, but the Prophet ﷺ saw differently.
A marriage that shocked society. The Prophet ﷺ personally intervened to help Julaybib marry a woman from a noble, high status family. This wasn't just a wedding, it was a social revolution. Julaybib eventually died in battle. He killed seven then they killed him. When the Prophet ﷺ found him, he uttered words that have echoed through the centuries.
“He is of me, and I am of him.”
This is considered one of the highest honors ever bestowed upon a human being. It elevated Julaybib from a social outcast to a timeless symbol of spiritual nobility.
